Only pure water molecules pass through the membrane making it to the other side much like trying to fit and elephant through a mouse hole.

The same standard membrane housing can accommodate RO membranes with capacities ranging between 18-100 gallons per day (GPD).

If you would like to change your membrane to a capacity other than what was originally in your Reverse Osmosis System, you must change the drain flow control also.
